WhatsMiner M60 Series: Designed to Meet Industry Demand and ESG Goals

Dubai, October 24, 2023 – MicroBT, a leading player in the blockchain industry, made a major announcement at the Blockchain Life 2023 event in Dubai. The company revealed its highly-anticipated WhatsMiner M60 series of mining rigs, featuring hydro, immersion, and air-cooling models, all incorporating the renowned full-custom designed crypto hardware created by Dr. Zuoxing Yang.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Zuoxing Yang, the Founder and CEO of MicroBT, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to its customers and highlighted the importance of energy in powering mining hardware. Dr. Yang emphasized the role of renewable energy sources and technologies in fostering sustainable development.

The WhatsMiner M60 series has been meticulously designed to align with industry trends, ESG-friendly mining goals, and customization requirements, making them suitable for operation using renewable energy sources. The latest generation M60 series includes the WhatsMiner M66S and WhatsMiner M66 immersion cooling models, which deliver a performance range from 298TH/s to 270 TH/s with an impressive efficiency rating of 18.5 J/T and from 276TH/s to 240 TH/s with 19.9 J/T, respectively. Hydro cooling models, WhatsMiner M63S and WhatsMiner M63, offer a range from 390 TH/s to 360 TH/s with 18.5 J/H and from 366 TH/s to 334 TH/s with 19.9 J/T. The air-cooling model, WhatsMiner M60S and M60 boasts a production capacity range of 186Th/s to 170Th/s with 18.5 J/T and 172Th/s to 150Th/s with 19.9 J/T.

Mr. Charles Song, Executive Vice President of Samsung, MicroBT’s strategic partner, expressed his pride in being part of the launch of the WhatsMiner M60 series and underlined Samsung’s satisfaction with its collaboration with MicroBT as the industry’s premier mining hardware manufacturer, offering all three types of mining rigs. He commended the WhatsMiner brand for its high-quality, durable, and reliable hardware.

Vincent Zhang, Sales Director of MicroBT, pointed out that miners opting for the M60 series can optimize their operations due to the hardware’s remarkable ability to function at temperatures up to 80℃. Furthermore, the combination of renewable energy and the ability to recycle waste heat positions them competitively and opens up opportunities for cheaper investments from institutional investors operating under ESG mandates.

Ghazaleh Barman, Vice President of Riot Platforms, and Niek Beudeker, Managing Director of Peak Mining (a part of the Northern Data Group), stressed that the M60 series aims to address challenges in power generation and distribution to match stringent grid management, such as ERCOT in Texas, USA. The fast response of PSU power management in the M60 series is expected to help balance grid loads.

Kevin Zhang, Senior Vice President of Foundry, welcomed the launch and announced that Foundry will release its evaluation report for the M60S at the earliest opportunity.
